About US EB-5 Visa Program

What is US EB-5 program?

EB-5 Program was created by Congress in 1990 to stimulate the U.S. economy through job creation and capital investment by foreign investors. Through this program, investors and their immediate family members are allowed to obtain their permanent US green cards.

There is two options for EB-5

Individual or direct EB-5

This type of investment requires direct involvement of investor in the business. The rate of financial return depends on Investor’s activities and business acumen. Also, investor himself is responsible for creating 10 direct full-time jobs.

Indirect or RC EB-5

Regional centers are the licensed companies that are in charge of managing the projects, by choosing this type of investment; investors do not get involved in day-to-day activities of the business. Therefore, project is in charge of creating 10 direct/indirect full-time job per investor. The rate of financial return is lower and will be determined by Regional Center.

According to statistics, almost 98% of the EB-5 investors choose indirect/RC EB-5, as in this type, Regional Centers with their team of experts take all the required steps to manage the risk of investment successfully and meet USCIS requirements.

Regional Centers

To stimulate the American economy with job creation, The United States created the EB-5 Green Card investment program. U.S. Congress Immigration Act of 1990, allows foreign investors to invest $500,000 into designated regions of U.S., known as Targeted Employment Areas (TEA), which has experienced unemployment that is at least 150 percent of the national average rate.

Regional Centers are U.S. companies licensed by United States Citizen Immigration Services (USCIS) to offer private investment partnerships (EB5 Investment) in TEA. By investing in a Regional Center project, investors do not have to come across the world to risk their capital by themselves in a foreign market. In other words, Regional Centers are licensed to partner with foreign investors to secure their investments into viable projects to get their U.S. Green Cards; by creating 10 full time direct or indirect jobs per investor.
